Air Duct Cleaning Process

The process of air duct cleaning involves four steps:

  1. Clean the furnace/air conditioner.
    1. After testing the system for proper operation, you MUST disconnect the power before opening the unit for safety.
    2. Vacuum the interior surfaces of the Furnace/Air Conditioner.
    3. Clean the cooling coils with a HEPA vacuum and a coil cleaner.
    4. Clean the Blower unit.
    5. Use the Automist fogger to decontaminate the interior surfaces with Sporicidin EPA registered Biocide.
  2. Clean the supply and return registers and grills.
    1. Remove wall, ceiling and Floor registers.
    2. Wash Register with Dynamite cleaner and rinse.
    3. Plug supply duct openings with foam register plugs.
    4. Block return by placing the filter in a plastic bag and installing in the unit.
  3. Clean the supply and return ducts.
    1. Attach the TurboJet negative air machine to the system. It can be attached to a Floor Duct or the Furnace Plenum with an Adapter Plate. The Pogo Pole Hose Adapter can be used to connect to ceiling and wall ducts.
    2. The Cobra Power Brush will aggressively remove duct debris.
    3. The Sidewinder Air Powered tool will remove duct debris more gently.
    4. Decontaminate cleaned ducts with Sporicidin, Soot set sealant, and Odor Kill Deodorizer.
  4. Install electrostatic air filter and odor control products.
    1. Remove the bagged filter from the return and install an electrostatic air filter.
    2. Remove the foam plugs from the supply ducts and install the registers.
    3. Install Solid Odor Kill in the return to control odors for up to 3 months.
